Cleanup safety
Safety Disclaimer
Litter League™ is a cleanup tracking and gamification app. It does not make cleanup activity safe. You are responsible for deciding what is safe for you.
Do Not Pick Up Unsafe Items
Do not pick up or touch:
- Needles, sharps, broken glass, blades, or medical waste.
- Chemicals, fuel, paint, batteries, unknown liquids, or suspicious containers.
- Biohazards, human waste, animal waste, dead animals, or contaminated materials.
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or anything that may be evidence of a crime.
- Heavy items, unstable items, or anything that could injure you.
- Roadside litter near traffic, active construction, railways, water hazards, or steep areas.
- Private-property litter unless you have permission to be there and clean there.
Call the Right People
For hazardous items, unsafe locations, blocked roads, illegal dumping, or anything that looks dangerous, contact local authorities, public works, property management, or the appropriate local service. Do not handle it for app credit.
Use Common Sense
- Wear gloves and visible clothing when appropriate.
- Use a grabber or tool instead of your hands when possible.
- Stay aware of traffic, weather, people, animals, and your surroundings.
- Clean during daylight or in safe, familiar places.
- Obey local laws, posted signs, park rules, and disposal rules.
No Points Are Worth Getting Hurt
Do not risk injury, trespass, or break rules for points, streaks, leaderboards, crews, rewards, or share cards. If a cleanup situation feels unsafe, skip it.
